Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a resource setting for K-2 students. In this contract position, you'll collaborate closely with a dedicated Teacher’s Assistant and provide high-quality instruction to a diverse group of exceptional learners within a general education environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license in Special Education or eligibility for certification.
- Experience working with K-2 students, preferably in a resource or inclusive setting.
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and best practices in special education.
- Proven ability to differentiate instruction for students with varied learning needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with general education staff, families, and support personnel.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support 16-20 students by developing and delivering tailored lessons aligned with IEP goals.
- Collaborate with the EC Teacher’s Assistant to adapt materials and modify activities for individual learners.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and track outcomes to adjust learning strategies as needed.
- Work within the general education classroom alongside colleagues to promote inclusion.
- Engage in ongoing communication with families and related service providers.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and school-based team initiatives.
