Ideal Candidates Will Bring:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification
- EC-12th grade certification and generalist EC-6th grade certification
- Previous experience supporting students with behavioral, emotional, or learning difficulties in a school setting
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to positive behavioral supports
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to adapt instruction accordingly
- Excellent communication skills to partner with families and staff
- Dedication, patience, and a true passion for fostering growth in young learners
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Instructing and supporting elementary students within a self-contained classroom
- Designing and implementing individualized lesson plans based on students’ unique needs
- Monitoring student progress and modifying strategies as necessary
- Cultivating a supportive classroom culture that promotes respect and inclusion
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success
- Preparing for and participating in IEP meetings and maintaining documentation
