Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Previous experience working with students exhibiting severe behavioral needs.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills and adaptability.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Compassion and commitment to advocating for student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to a small caseload of students in 1st through 3rd grade.
- Implement effective strategies to support and manage challenging behaviors.
- Utilize CPI de-escalation techniques when needed to maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment.
- Collaborate closely with fellow staff, related service providers, and families to develop and adjust IEP goals.
- Collect progress data and maintain documentation for compliance and progress monitoring.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, ensuring academic, social, and emotional growth.
