Ignite the potential in young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting early elementary students. This contract position offers the opportunity to serve 3K and 4K classrooms in a positive, collaborative school environment. The assignment will run from August 10, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with a Monday through Friday schedule (7:15am – 2:45pm) for a total of 37.5 hours per week.
As a key member of the Special Education team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping foundational skills and making a genuine impact during an important stage in students' academic journey.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and current South Carolina teacher certification in Special Education (required, with no exceptions)
- Experience teaching early childhood or primary grades preferred
- Familiarity with IEPs, progress monitoring, and classroom accommodations/modifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in 3K and 4K classrooms, adapting lessons and materials to meet individualized education plans
- Track and document student progress, collaborating with team members to update and implement IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with families, sharing updates and strategies to support student growth
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding special education services
- Foster a welcoming, engaging, and safe learning space for all students
