Key Qualifications:
- Active GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements appropriate for Pre-K
- Classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional preferred
- Skill and comfort working with young children who may be non-verbal, require assistance with toileting/diapering, and feeding
- Ability to employ patience, positivity, and creative strategies to support students’ diverse needs
- Collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, and a passion for early childhood development
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and interventions for special education Pre-K students
- Assist with daily routines, including toilet training, diapering, and mealtime support as needed
- Implement strategies to support communication and behavioral growth in students with low verbal ability
- Adapt lessons to meet the unique developmental milestones and abilities of each child
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, families, and related service providers to create a nurturing, inclusive classroom
- Maintain detailed records on student progress, behaviors, and care requirements
