An exciting full-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support a Pre-K program dedicated to children aged 3-5 with diverse developmental and behavioral needs. This role focuses on providing quality instruction and compassionate assistance to students, many of whom are non-verbal or have limited verbal skills and require hands-on care with toilet training, diapering, and feeding. Be a crucial part of an inclusive, supportive classroom environment and make a meaningful impact each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with Special and General Education Endorsements applicable to Pre-K age groups
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional, especially within early childhood or Pre-K settings
- Demonstrated ability to deliver individualized instruction and support to children with varying levels of need
- Comfortable assisting with toileting, diapering, and feeding
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a nurturing demeanor
- Ability to effectively manage and respond to behavioral challenges
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and modify curriculum to meet individual needs within a Pre-K special education classroom
- Assist students with daily routines, including feeding and personal care
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with team members
- Monitor and document student progress, regularly communicating with families and related service providers
- Foster a positive, safe, and structured environment for early learners
This contract runs from August 4th, 2026, to May 21st, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
