Special Education Teacher - Ladson, South Carolina

This position supports various elementary schools and one high school, each with its unique population including mild needs, autism, multiple severe disabilities, preschool support, and emotional disabilities.
With a start date of August 5th, 2026, and ending June 4th, 2027, you’ll be stepping into a diverse educational community for a full school year. Positions are entirely onsite, offering the chance to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina Special Education (SPED) License is required
- Experience teaching or supporting K-12 students in special education settings
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with teams and families
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet a range of student needs
- Flexibility and willingness to serve in various elementary environments and one high school location
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse exceptionalities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Provide direct instruction in academic, social, or behavioral skills
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Support a positive and inclusive classroom climate
- Attend staff meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development as needed
