Multiple positions are open across Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit, supporting K-12 students in urban districts. Whether your expertise is with cognitive impairments, emotional impairments, or resource classrooms addressing learning disabilities, your skills will be valued here. These are onsite roles, each offering the chance to foster growth and development in self-contained classrooms, with a maximum of 22 students per class.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate, ideally with endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), Learning Disabilities (LD), or MDE endorsement ZA (Early Childhood) alongside another special education specialty
- Experience or interest in working with students with cognitive or emotional impairments in K-12 settings
- Resource classroom experience and/or appropriate endorsements are highly desirable
- Must be able to provide official university transcripts prior to district presentation
- Comfortable working onsite and engaging with students in urban school environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction in self-contained or resource classrooms
- Adapt lessons to meet a diverse range of learning needs and goals
- Manage caseloads varying by assignment and flexibly address changing classroom requirements
- Collaborate with support staff, administrators, and families to foster student success
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Commit to a 35-hour workweek throughout the school year
