Special Education Teacher - Limon, Colorado

Step into a fulfilling role supporting young learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in a hybrid contract position. From August 3 through November 30, you’ll provide crucial maternity leave coverage for a supportive school community near Limon, CO. Spend four days a week immersing yourself in classrooms and collaborating closely with families and colleagues across Kiowa, Bennett, and Byers—with the benefit of completing IEP meetings and paperwork remotely.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Early childhood education experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs
- Experience conducting student assessments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills for managing caseload, documentation, and reporting
- Comfort with hybrid instructional models and using digital tools to complete administrative tasks
- Passion for fostering inclusive learning environments
What you’ll do:
- Deliver in-person special education services to students in early childhood settings, focusing on developmental support and individualized instruction
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to guide the creation and implementation of IEPs
- Work remotely for paperwork, meetings, and virtual collaboration, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with timelines
- Build relationships with students, staff, and families to create supportive, engaging classrooms
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely updates to involved parties
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing school initiatives
