This full-time contract opportunity runs from late February through May, providing a focused time frame to utilize your skills and expertise as a Special Education Teacher. The assignment is on-site, so you'll enjoy a collaborative atmosphere and the chance to form strong connections with students and colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
- Active CDE Special Education (SPED) License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21) or proof of application for the correct endorsement; Professional Teacher License must show the appropriate qualifying credentials
- Experience in middle school special education settings
- Comprehensive familiarity with instructional practices and strategies for students requiring specially designed instruction
- Deep understanding of supporting learners on alternative standards
- Mastery of the IEP process and the ability to clearly demonstrate its effect on student success
- Strong commitment to collaboration across multidisciplinary IEP teams
- Availability for on-campus, in-person teaching (no hybrid or virtual assignments)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to middle school students with a variety of learning needs
- Develop, adapt, and implement IEPs to foster academic and functional growth
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, related service providers, and family members to support student success
- Document progress, maintain detailed records, and participate thoughtfully in IEP meetings
