Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license, or eligibility via emergency/pending certification (Teachers of America and ITeach program participants encouraged)
- Experience working with elementary or PreK-age students preferred
- Knowledge of autism strategies and evidence-based interventions a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility in adapting to different educational needs and collaborating with the team
- Open to both experienced educators and enthusiastic new professionals entering the field
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in self-contained elementary autism (K-2nd) and PreK special education classrooms
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere
- Track and document student progress and behavior
- Uphold best practices in classroom management, accommodations, and modifications
