Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification, with endorsement for Strat II: ID (Instructional Disabilities)
- Experience working with middle school students or within the 5th-8th grade range
- Familiarity with alternate assessment plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instruction based on student IEPs and alternative assessment requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to coordinate educational supports
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth
- Track and evaluate student progress; prepare timely reports and documentation for IEP meetings
- Utilize creative approaches to make learning accessible and meaningful for every student
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
