Here’s an exciting opportunity for dedicated Special Education Teachers seeking a rewarding full-time, onsite role for the upcoming academic year. Four contract positions are available—one at the middle school level (hours TBD: either 8:30AM-4PM or 8AM-3:15PM), and three at the high school level (7:15AM-2:45PM), focusing respectively on Science, Math, or Social Studies. Roles begin August 24, 2026, and extend through June 10, 2027, with a 35-hour work week.
Ideal candidates demonstrate subject matter expertise, refined instructional methods, and familiarity with educational resources relevant to their courses. Engaging students through differentiated lesson plans, formative assessments, and clear alignment to current state and district standards is critical.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid, active teaching certification or licensure suitable for Special Education.
- At least a bachelor’s degree; required for emergency teaching permit eligibility.
- Strong classroom and behavioral management experience, especially in urban environments.
- Prior experience working in schools is essential.
- Comfortable with in-person, district-based roles.
- Capacity to work full hours as scheduled; no schedule accommodations.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
- Ability to obtain and complete all Pennsylvania clearances.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction tailored to individual student needs in accordance with IEPs and curriculum goals.
- Create differentiated, inclusive lesson plans and implement behavior management strategies.
- Partner with other teachers, aides, and staff to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and communication with families and administration.
