Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with LBS1 endorsement (required)
- Experience teaching in self-contained programs or a strong comfort level with self-contained caseloads preferred
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to serve a range of student needs
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education laws
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Enthusiasm for working with elementary and/or middle school students
Responsibilities:
- Provide full-time instruction in a self-contained classroom setting, elementary and/or middle grades
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s strengths and goals
- Adapt lessons and materials to various learning styles and needs
- Foster a supportive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate closely with support staff, families, and related service providers
- Continuously monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Maintain clear records and documentation in compliance with all regulations
