Exciting opportunity available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a cross-categorical classroom for the academic year running from September 2, 2026, through June 9, 2027. Key Qualifications:
- Active Wisconsin Special Education Certification required
- Previous experience in a middle school classroom strongly preferred
- Proficient in planning and adapting curriculum for cross-categorical needs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
- Ability to manage diverse learning and behavioral needs within a classroom setting
- Proactive, energetic, and caring approach towards student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support within a cross-categorical classroom for 7th-grade students
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other professionals
- Encourage student independence, social-emotional skills, and academic achievement
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs
