Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active New Hampshire Special Education Teacher certification is required
- Solid experience working with middle school-aged students
- Familiarity with life skills programming and adapting instruction to individual needs
- Previous involvement in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans targeting life skills for each student
- Collaborate closely with general educators, support staff, and families to ensure effective support and progress monitoring
- Use evidence-based instructional strategies to enhance student engagement and learning
- Document student growth, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that prioritizes student safety and agency
- Provide ongoing feedback and adjust instructional approaches to meet evolving student needs
