Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Intervention Specialist to support high school students in a Dropout Recovery program in Middlefield, Ohio. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about helping at-risk students overcome barriers to success, achieve academic goals, and stay on track toward graduation.
The successful candidate will provide individualized support, specialized instruction, and case management services while fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide specialized instruction and academic support to high school students.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student success.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records.
- Adapt instructional strategies and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Support students in developing academic, behavioral, social, and life skills necessary for graduation and future success.
- Build positive relationships with students and encourage engagement in the educational process.
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License required.
- Experience working with high school students preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with at-risk youth or dropout recovery programs is a plus.
