Special Education Teacher - Minturn, Colorado
Bring your passion for supporting young learners as a Special Education professional in a rewarding contract position within an elementary school’s mild/moderate classroom near Minturn, CO. The assignment begins November 2, 2026 and runs through May 28, 2027, with hopes for an earlier start should you be available. This position involves a 40-hour workweek, working Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:40 AM to 2:50 PM, and Wednesdays from 8:40 AM to 2:50 PM. Your classroom will serve approximately 20 elementary students within a supportive, collaborative educational environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the elementary level
- Expertise with mild to moderate disabilities in a classroom setting
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and assess Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student
- Deliver instruction and support in both individual and group formats
- Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and families to promote student success
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress
- Create an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere that fosters social and academic growth
