This full-time, onsite contract position begins ASAP and runs through June 5, 2026, providing stability and a chance to build strong relationships within the school community. Multiple openings are available, serving varied student populations across elementary and middle school levels.
Opportunities include:
- Elementary Developmental classrooms for students with behavioral, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and communication needs, supported by six dedicated assistants.
- Elementary Behavior program (grades 3–5) working collaboratively with five assistants.
- Middle School Resource program serving 40 students with the support of two shared assistants.
- Elementary Resource position spanning two locations (just two miles apart) and working alongside a dedicated assistant in each building.
- Middle School Behavior program focused on supporting students with behavioral needs, joined by a team of five assistants.
Desired qualifications:
- Active Oregon Special Education certification/license (SPED)
- Experience working with children with a variety of exceptionalities, including ASD, behavioral, and communication challenges
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with assistants and school staff
- Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive classroom practices
- Ability to provide or obtain a recent supervisor reference during the hiring process
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student growth and independence
- Collaborate with support staff, families, and administrators
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Maintain accurate progress monitoring and records
