This on-site, full-time contract runs from September 8, 2026, through June 17, 2027, and offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will make a significant impact. Multiple positions are available, each designed to meet the diverse needs of students in elementary behavior classrooms and high-volume learning resource classrooms.
Desired Background:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) certification/license for Oregon
- Previous experience supporting elementary students with behavioral challenges (including physical aggression and elopement)
- Demonstrated proficiency managing high-volume Learning Resource Classrooms, with a capability to work with caseloads averaging 43 students
- Strong classroom management and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Prompt provision of contact information for your three most recent supervisors is required—no exceptions
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, tailored instruction to students with a range of special needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, aides, and support staff for student success
- Manage challenging behaviors using positive, evidence-based strategies
- Facilitate social and emotional skill-building in both group and individual settings
- Maintain accurate and timely IEP documentation and progress reporting
- Engage actively in IEP meetings, family consultations, and staff development initiatives
