This dynamic contract position runs from September 8, 2026, through June 17, 2027, offering a chance to bring your expertise to an onsite role supporting elementary learners in behavioral classrooms or a high-volume resource environment.
Ideal candidates possess a deep understanding of special education best practices and thrive in fast-paced settings. Five full-time positions, each at 37.5 hours per week, are available to passionate educators with the skills to impact students requiring individualized attention and support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license for the state of Oregon
- Recent, direct experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors, including physical aggression or elopement, especially in elementary behavioral classrooms
- Demonstrated success managing high-volume Learning Resource Classrooms (average caseload of 43 students)
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to remain flexible, patient, and proactive in a constantly changing environment
- Required: Contact information for three most recent direct supervisors for references—submissions without this will not be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals for each student
- Implement effective behavior intervention strategies
- Support a positive, safe classroom climate
- Collaborate with general education staff, service providers, and families
- Maintain thorough documentation and timely progress reporting
- Supervise and guide classroom support staff as needed
