Special Education Teachers are needed for contract positions in Massachusetts, offering the chance to make a significant impact supporting students with diverse learning needs. Required Skills and Experience:
- Current and valid Massachusetts Special Education License
- Experience working with students in K-12 settings preferred, but all backgrounds considered
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Familiarity with IEP processes, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability to work in different classroom types and grade levels
- Organizational skills to manage caseloads, documentation, and student assessments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the unique needs and learning styles of assigned students
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Deliver engaging lessons and provide direct instruction in inclusive, resource, or self-contained classroom settings
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate updates as needed
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
