This contract opportunity is located near Naperville, IL and is open to passionate Special Education Teachers interested in working with either early elementary (K-2) or upper elementary (4th-5th) students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification recognized in Illinois
- Strong background in developing and adapting curriculum for students with diverse learning needs
- Demonstrated experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Enthusiasm for creating a supportive, engaging classroom community
- Ability to employ evidence-based strategies and manage classroom behaviors constructively
- Prior experience with elementary students in a self-contained or specialized setting is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students’ unique learning profiles within a self-contained classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Partner closely with general education staff, parents, and support staff to maximize student success and growth
- Foster a positive classroom culture emphasizing respect, growth, and achievement
- Maintain detailed records and progress reports in compliance with school and state requirements
- Engage students in creative, multi-sensory activities and lessons that motivate and encourage participation
