Special Education Teacher | Naperville, Illinois
Step into an impactful teaching opportunity supporting young learners as a contract Special Education Teacher for 1st and 2nd grade students. In this position, you’ll primarily provide support within inclusive classroom settings, helping all students succeed academically and socially alongside their peers. Occasionally, you may provide pull-out services for small group instruction or targeted interventions, adapting your teaching to promote each child’s skills and confidence.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification or licensure.
- Experience supporting elementary-aged students, particularly in 1st and 2nd grades.
- Familiarity with inclusive practices and differentiated instruction.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with general educators, support staff, and families.
- Ability to manage a variety of student needs, from developmental delays to health impairments.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction within inclusive classrooms.
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Adapt teaching methods and curriculum to meet diverse learning preferences and needs.
- Monitor student progress and document results.
- Communicate regularly with staff and families regarding progress and strategies.
- Occasionally provide pull-out interventions as required.
