Special Education Teacher - New Castle, Colorado
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher supporting mild to moderate needs in a dynamic school setting near New Castle, CO. You’ll have a manageable caseload of approximately 25–30 students, engaging in hands-on work on campus and collaborating with faculty to create an inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Colorado Teaching License required
- Special Education (SPED) endorsement necessary
- Prior experience with mild/moderate disabilities preferred
- Comfortable supporting behavior interventions for students
- Willingness to assist with toileting needs, if required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering positive, inclusive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education staff, parents, and related services providers
- Track and document student progress, providing updates and adapting interventions as needed
- Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
- Participate in professional development and school meetings
