Special Education Teacher in New London, NH

Make an impact across diverse learning environments as a contract special education teacher during the 2026-2027 school year. From September through June, you’ll collaborate with a supportive educational community to empower students of varying abilities in multiple school settings, including public, private, and charter schools. This is a full-time opportunity with 35-37.5 hours per week, giving you the chance to apply your expertise and adaptability as a traveling educator nurturing student achievement across the region.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Demonstrated experience working in special education, ideally within both inclusive and self-contained settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and resourcefulness to serve students in a variety of school environments
- Ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet individual student needs
- Current knowledge of IEPs, progress monitoring, and compliance practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with a range of abilities, ensuring alignment with IEPs and state standards
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and administrators
- Travel between schools (public, private, charter) as required to provide comprehensive support and services
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation for compliance
- Communicate proactively with families to support student growth
- Advocate for inclusive practices within diverse educational settings
