As an itinerant special education teacher, your expertise will be invaluable in guiding and uplifting both students and non-certified teachers across multiple campuses.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana DOE Certification with Special Education endorsement (SPED) required
- At least one year of experience in special education preferred
- Exceptional skills in IEP development, instructional strategies, and data-driven progress monitoring
- Strong communication and mentorship abilities, particularly when providing support to non-certified educators
- Commitment to meeting all district credentialing standards, including drug screening and fingerprinting
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant special education teacher, traveling between assigned schools
- Provide mentorship and instructional guidance to non-certified special education teachers
- Assist in writing IEPs, collecting and reporting progress data, and developing effective instructional plans
- Facilitate adherence to state and district compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate records and timely communication with multidisciplinary teams
This full-time assignment follows the school calendar, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours per week.
