This full-time contract position focuses on delivering specialized education services to a small group of 7-8 students in an elementary adaptive special education classroom. Supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals, you'll have the resources and collaboration necessary to tailor instruction and foster student growth.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Active North Carolina Adaptive EC (Exceptional Children) licensure is essential
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in elementary or adaptive settings highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and adaptive teaching strategies
- Ability to differentiate instruction and integrate individualized supports
- Compassionate approach with excellent collaboration and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and adaptive support to 7-8 elementary students with diverse needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and instructional plans tailored to individual student goals
- Work closely with two paraprofessionals, delegating tasks and collaborating for maximum student engagement
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Conduct ongoing assessments, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in team meetings
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and service providers to ensure continuity of care
This contract opportunity runs from the start date through May 26. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
