Special Education Teacher in Newton, NC

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher supporting 3rd-5th graders. This contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated group of 17 students, helping them thrive academically and socially. The assignment is set to start as soon as possible and runs through May 2027, providing stability and the chance to build lasting connections within the school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure in EC General Curriculum
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher is strongly preferred
- Strong commitment to supporting diverse learning needs in resource, pull-out, and inclusion settings
- Ability to develop and implement effective IEPs for students
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction for students in resource, pull-out, and inclusion classrooms
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to provide integrated and differentiated instruction
- Monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic growth
- Organize and lead IEP meetings to set achievable and meaningful goals for each student
- Maintain detailed documentation of student development and program effectiveness
- Foster a supportive, encouraging classroom climate that celebrates each learner
