Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
- Experience in co-teaching, resource settings, or self-contained classrooms preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Creative approach to differentiated instruction and positive behavioral supports
- Adaptable to varied academic and life skills needs across elementary and middle grades
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized, and small-group instruction tailored to IEP goals
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that foster growth and independence
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Facilitate transition planning and community-based instruction where applicable
