Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Demonstrated skill working with students with moderate disabilities, preferably in a middle school setting
- Experience with alternate assessment curricula and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to foster relationships with staff, students, and families
- Flexibility and creativity in developing engaging, differentiated instructional strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and modify curriculum to meet the needs of each student
- Develop and implement effective IEPs in partnership with families and school staff
- Lead and work alongside your assistants to create an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
- Track student progress and report on individual growth and goals
- Promote social, behavioral, and academic development through positive, structured routines
