Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Indiana teaching license in Special Education (screenshot of licensure required with application)
- Prior experience teaching or student-teaching in a special education setting
- Thorough understanding of IEP processes and the ability to tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong classroom management skills, empathy, and adaptability
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with parents, students, and educational teams
Responsibilities:
- Lead a self-contained classroom for students with mild disabilities, grades 6–8
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Work closely with support staff and families to ensure comprehensive educational support
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive
