Kindergarten Elementary Special Education Teacher | Norwalk, Connecticut

This full-time opportunity offers a welcoming school environment, working closely with elementary and kindergarten students who benefit from your expertise and dedication.
Your regular hours will be 7:30 AM to 3:50 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility if there is a need to leave earlier—though this is not the preferred schedule. Dress in business casual attire during the week, and enjoy a more relaxed Friday with jeans and a professional top. You’ll implement both push-in and pull-out instructional models, collaborating with general education staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
Ideal candidates are proactive, compassionate educators with experience working with elementary and kindergarten special education populations. Licensure for any K-4 grade level is welcomed; please apply even if you only hold certification for one particular grade.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current teaching license/certification in Special Education for at least one grade between K-4
- Background in developing and delivering IEP-driven instruction
- Experience with push-in/pull-out service models preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning needs
- Commitment to supporting an inclusive, positive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction per student IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Maintain clear documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster strong relationships with students and families
