Special Education Teacher in Oakland, CA

Your assignment will run from June 15, 2026 through July 10, 2026, providing specialized support to an engaged group of K-6 students. The manageable caseload of 4-6 students gives you the chance to focus on meaningful instruction and individualized attention. This position offers 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, creating a balanced summer schedule and transition.
To be considered, candidates should have:
- Current and active California Education Specialist License
- Previous experience teaching or supporting K-6 special education students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet diverse learner needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Delivering instruction and supports tailored to each student’s unique strengths and challenges
- Collaborating with general education staff and related service providers
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Engaging with families to support student progress
