Make an immediate impact educating and supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for a resource classroom serving elementary and middle school learners. This contract opportunity requires an enthusiastic and flexible educator ready to make a difference across two locations, with positions available based on your preference for elementary or middle school.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teacher license in Michigan—please provide proof upon application.
- Previous experience working with students in a resource room or special education setting is strongly preferred.
- Ability to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with varying abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, support staff, and families.
- Organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing classroom dynamics.
- Commitment to student development, academic progress, and social-emotional wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction and individualized support for students on your caseload (elementary: 10 or middle school: 11).
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement IEPs and provide effective accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor and track student progress, maintaining clear and accurate documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding goals, achievements, and needs.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that enables every student to succeed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate with educational staff across both assigned schools.
