Special Education Teacher - Parma, MI

Two dedicated Special Education Resource Teachers are needed for elementary and middle school positions supporting students near the Athens area, with a starting date as soon as possible and a tentative end date of June 2027. Candidates may indicate whether they prefer working with elementary or middle school age groups.
You’ll enjoy working on a close-knit campus with manageable caseloads (10 elementary students or 11 middle school students) in supportive resource settings. The weekly schedule is 35 hours, with structured school day start and end times at either our elementary or middle school campus. This assignment offers the chance to create meaningful educational experiences for students, collaborate with staff, and contribute your expertise in a positive environment.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Michigan Special Education Teacher License (submission of a copy or screenshot required)
- Experience or strong interest in working within resource classrooms
- Demonstrated skill supporting elementary and/or middle school students with diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Compassion, creativity, and adaptability in supporting individualized student learning
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support in a resource room setting
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records
- Provide a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for students
