Special Education Teacher - Pawtucket, Rhode Island
Step into a rewarding full-time contract role supporting young learners with diverse needs in an elementary developmental classroom. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week guiding students in a setting focused on growth, engagement, and individualized support. Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Special Education Teacher (mild to moderate or severe licensure)
- Experience working in an elementary setting preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Ability to implement individualized instructional strategies
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility and adaptability within a dynamic classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with each student’s IEP goals
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to support academic, emotional, and social growth
- Track progress and maintain accurate records
- Foster a welcoming, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Work with support staff and related service providers to deliver holistic care
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, updating them on progress and needs
