Step into a rewarding role supporting students with intermediate disabilities in a dynamic middle school environment near Peoria, AZ. This full-time, contract opportunity places you in a specialized sales classroom, teaching grades 6-8. You’ll have the chance to work onsite and, depending on school needs, there may be potential for virtual or onsite (voco) instruction as well. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certified Special Education Teacher or eligibility for certification in Arizona
- Experience teaching intermediate disabilities and adapting curriculum to diverse learner needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation for middle school students
- Background in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with families
- Previous experience in similar settings preferred, especially with grades 6-8
- Flexibility with instructional delivery both onsite and remotely, if needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with intermediate disabilities in a sales-focused classroom setting
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to support individualized learning goals in alignment with IEPs
- Implement behavioral and academic interventions to promote student growth and classroom inclusion
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment for all learners
