Desired Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with families, staff, and support personnel
- Ability to foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment
- Commitment to tailoring instruction to meet diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs
- Assess student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and families to ensure coordinated support
- Deliver differentiated instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities in both group and one-on-one settings
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and behavioral incidents
- Employ evidence-based interventions and classroom management techniques
