Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active Texas Special Education Teacher (K-5) certification
- Previous experience working with students with autism and other disabilities is highly preferred
- Strong background in developing and implementing IEPs
- Excellent organizational and data collection skills
- Capable of providing guidance and supervision to paraprofessionals
- Creative, patient, and collaborative approach to teaching life skills
Responsibilities:
- Manage a life skills classroom for elementary-aged students
- Oversee and support classroom paraprofessionals
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure ongoing compliance
- Collect, analyze, and use data to inform instructional practices
- Deliver customized lessons and interventions
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
