Special Education Teacher in Philadelphia, PA

Take your expertise where it’s needed most by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher on a full-time, contract basis for the upcoming school year. Multiple positions are available for dedicated professionals who excel in urban settings and have proven skills in classroom and behavioral management. Opportunities are offered at the elementary, middle, and high school levels—each with their own unique and rewarding environment.
Openings & Schedules:
- 1 Elementary School Position: 8:30AM–4:00PM
- 1 Middle School Position: 8:30AM–4:00PM or 8:00AM–3:15PM (schedule to be determined)
- 2 High School Positions: 7:15AM–2:45PM All roles are onsite, 35 hours per week, starting August 24, 2026, and concluding June 10, 2027.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Active certification/licensure required for caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required to qualify for an emergency teaching permit
- Proven school-based experience
- Able to complete all necessary PA clearances
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Strong mastery of subject matter and effective instructional skills
- Experience working successfully in urban educational environments
- Comfortable adhering to district requirements and setting
- Exceptional classroom and behavioral management capabilities
- Availability to work no later than 8:30AM–4:00PM (schedule accommodations are not permitted)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans that align with state and district standards
- Implement formative assessments and differentiate instruction as needed
- Utilize a wide range of instructional resources to support diverse learners
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
