Special Education Teacher - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year! Multiple full-time contract opportunities are available in both elementary and middle school settings, running from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027. These positions are onsite and require a commitment of 35 hours per week. The school is situated near the vibrant city of Philadelphia, PA, and candidates should be comfortable working in an urban district.
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education certification/licensure required for assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree (required for emergency teaching permit consideration)
- Prior school-based experience in special education
- Mastery of special education subject matter, instructional design, and resource materials
- Experience with effective lesson planning aligned with state and district standards
- Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Experience working in an urban school environment
- Ability to complete all Pennsylvania school clearances
- Must have reliable transportation
- Comfortable working onsite, full-time, between the hours of 8:30AM and 4PM (no schedule accommodations)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver well-structured lesson plans using formative assessment and differentiation
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of students
- Implement effective behavioral management strategies
- Collaborate with school teams, administrators, and parents to support student outcomes
- Utilize resource materials and best instructional practices to drive student engagement and learning
- Ensure compliance with all school and state policies for special education
