This position focuses on providing specialized instruction to preschool-aged students in community settings, offering both variety and the chance to make a significant impact.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education (emergency permits not accepted)
- Experience or interest in working with preschool-aged children with special education needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs
- Collaborative mindset; comfortable working within a team and with community partners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant teacher traveling to various community preschools within the area
- Manage a caseload of approximately 30 preschool students with special education needs
- Provide individualized and small group instruction in accordance with each student’s IEP
- Collaborate with preschool staff and families to support student growth and development
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports for each assigned student
- Participate in ongoing training and benefit from provided guidance to ensure an effective onboarding experience
Position Details:
- Contract-based role (35 hours per week)
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- All students served have identified special education needs and require customized instructional support
