Pickerington Local School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction and consultation services for students with visual impairments during the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to support students across multiple school locations while collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Position Responsibilities
Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Deliver specialized instruction to support students' academic achievement, independence, and access to the curriculum.
Attend IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings as requested.
Maintain accurate documentation of service delivery and student progress.
Complete indirect service activities, including IEP-related communication, collaboration, and recordkeeping.
Consult with teachers, school staff, and families regarding accommodations, instructional strategies, and assistive technology.
Travel between multiple school locations within the district to provide services.
Caseload
Approximately 8–10 students.
Primarily elementary-aged students, with the possibility of serving one middle or high school student.
Caseload may vary based on student eligibility throughout the school year.
Qualifications
Active Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification is required.
Experience providing direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments is preferred.
Strong knowledge of IEP development, special education regulations, and best practices for supporting students with visual impairments.
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage services across multiple school locations.
