This assignment is at a highly respected school specializing in the education and development of students with visual impairments and additional disabilities. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education K-12 (required)
- Experience with students who have visual and multiple disabilities preferred
- Strong collaborative, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; able to work in physically active settings and environments (including therapy pool, outdoors)
- Comfortable with documentation, data-driven practice, and adaptability
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instructional programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments and additional disabilities
- Conduct assessments and adapt materials into accessible formats (braille, auditory, tactile, etc.)
- Lead classroom and team meetings; collaborate with related service providers
- Foster accessibility, independence, and positive behavior supports
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation on student progress; support data-driven interventions
- Engage in ongoing professional development
