- Current Texas Special Education Teaching Certificate
- One of the following endorsements: Self Contained, Core Subjects, or Generalist (specifically matching classroom grade levels)
- Previous experience in life skills, FASE, or similar settings preferred
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom
- Ability to adapt and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset for working with support staff, therapists, administrators, and families
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for students in the FASE classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s abilities and goals
- Create a positive, structured classroom atmosphere that encourages independence and life skills development
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and service providers to support student progress
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and all aspects of the school community as an onsite educator
