Join Our Team as a Special Education Teacher in Pomona, California! We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher with a Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This part-time opportunity offers flexibility with a 20-28 hour work week and a preference for onsite services, while remaining open to hybrid arrangements for the right candidate. Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students receiving special education services
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies based on student needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers
Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate educational documentation
Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional skill development
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences
Implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based instructional practices
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
Active California Education Specialist Mild/Moderate (Mild/Mod) Credential through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
Experience developing and implementing IEPs
Knowledge of special education laws, compliance requirements, and best practices
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Ability to effectively support students with a variety of learning needs
Preferred
Master's Degree in Special Education or related field
Previous school-based special education teaching experience
Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities
Knowledge of differentiated instruction, behavior support strategies, and progress monitoring
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams
Familiarity with educational technology and hybrid learning platforms
