Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience or strong interest in early childhood, elementary, middle, and/or high school environments
- Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Adaptability and patience when working with children of diverse abilities
Responsibilities:
- Design and modify instructional plans to meet students’ individual needs
- Lead small group or one-on-one lessons in accordance with IEPs
- Track and report on student progress toward goals
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, school staff, and families
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records
- Stay current on best practices in special education and apply them in daily teaching
