Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification and state licensure required
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development, evaluation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and students
- Organization and adaptability to manage varying classroom needs
- Commitment to creating equitable, inclusive learning opportunities
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct specialized instruction in accordance with IEP goals
- Assess student progress, collect data, and participate in annual ARD and IEP meetings
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to promote student success
- Adapt materials and modify teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Cultivate a positive, supportive learning atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth
