Make a meaningful impact by supporting high school students with varied learning needs in a cross-categorical setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. In this contract position, you’ll collaborate with staff to deliver inclusive services to adolescents with mild-to-moderate disabilities—including learning disabilities, emotional-behavioral disorders, and autism—through a team-based approach.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher certification (License #2801)
- Demonstrated experience supporting high school-aged students with autism
- Strong understanding of cross-categorical service delivery models
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Experience designing and implementing IEPs across a variety of disability areas
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to high school students with diverse abilities in a cross-categorical program
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individual educational needs
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to comprehensive student evaluations
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress
- Foster a respectful, supportive classroom climate that embraces diversity
- Employ evidence-based strategies for students with autism and other mild-to-moderate disabilities
